Spec Work: UX, Content Analysis, and Wireframes

Project: Versa NYC is a trendy restaurant bar featuring a retractable roof and terrace for socializing and group event gatherings. It is located in the Renaissance New York Midtown Hotels, catering to business travelers and Madison Square Garden sports fans.

Situation: The client wants a new trendier looking site featuring videos and large photographs with a focus on groups and an events.

Task: In order to comprehend the current site content and the navigation functionality, a content analysis of the pages and user flow was conducted. Currently, the site’s home page is repeated for each category and the group sales is not readily accessible.

Result: Start fresh and group all like content together on one page so to eliminate duplication and increase user flow logic. Separate the single user from the group user. For the single user, include all tasks pertaining to the individual: the ability to make a reservation for one or a few, making reservations for groups under 10, view the menu, order online, purchase a gift card. For the event or group user, there will be a page specifically dedicated for booking groups and events. All vital information, event kits, floor plans, space availability and catering will be accessible. Other pages will be dedicated to Corporate Team affiliations and a Contact page to incorporate all connection actions such as social media links, instagram photo feed, location, career opportunities and get in touch.
